CRUDE OIL

Analysis characterizes the properties of crude for the refinery or producer

Analysis is also used to monitor the possible introduction of contaminants into the crude that can be detrimental to the refining equipment and/or the environment.

Crude properties determine  type and establish asking price and purchase price

FINISHED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

Petroleum products comprise refinery gas, ethane, LPG, aviation gasoline, motor gasoline, jet fuels, kerosene, gas/diesel oil, heavy fuel oil, naphtha, white spirit, Industrial Spirit (SBP): Light oils, finished grades of lubricating oil, from spindle oil to cylinder oil, and those used in greases, including motor oils and all grades of lubricating oil base stocks, bitumen - often referred to as asphalt,  lubricants,  paraffin waxes, tar, sulphur,  grease, aromatics (e.g. BTX or benzene, toluene and xylene) and olefins (e.g. propylene). olefins, petroleum coke and other petroleum products.

Petroleum products are any oil-based products which can be obtained by distillation and are normally used outside the refining industry. The exception to this are those finished products which are classified as refinery feedstocks above.

As just one example of finished products are Fluids / Lubricants used in:

Blowers; Brake Fluid; Compressor Oils; Generator Fluids; Elevator Fluids;  Engine Oil [Diesel Engines and Gasoline Engines]; Fans; Final Drives; Gear and Gear Box Systems; Grease; Hydraulic Systems; Hydrostatic Transmissions; Locomotive/Railroad systems; Marine, Motor Bearings; Paper Machines; Process Pumps; Rolling Mills; Steam Turbines; Transmission Systems; Turbine Oil.

By small batch blending-- in-house, formulations and quality control issues can be resolved BEFORE large capital investments are outlaid.  Our laboratory can quickly monitor the varied  stages of production; thereby ensuring quality standards and high performance for final production and ultimately finished products.

GREASE

Specialty greases [high-specification greases] are formulated to meet rigorous specifications and based on complex soaps combined with highly refined or synthetic base oils and additives.  While mineral oil based grease is the most common.  General purpose lubricating greases are usually based on lithium, calcium or sodium soaps and include some EP greases and lithium complex grease.
